Does converting between formats lose quality?
Converting to a lossy format (JPEG, WebP lossy) can reduce quality, especially at low quality settings. Converting to PNG is lossless and preserves quality. Converting from lossy to lossless will not restore lost quality.
Is transparency preserved when converting?
PNG and WebP support transparency (alpha channel). JPEG does not support transparency; transparent areas will be filled with a solid color (usually white) when converting to JPEG.
